Some weeks ago, we leaked that the Bayern Munich 2027-28 home kit will feature purple alongside the club's traditional red. What sounds like a strange and potentially controversial color combination at first glance has already sparked immense interest across the football shirt community.
Bayern 27-28 Home Kit With Purple - How It Could Work
To see exactly how this unexpected palette could look on the pitch, Kit Creator launched a dedicated design competition. The response was massive, with more than 600 designers entering their unique concepts to experiment with the future colorway.
Looking at the submissions, it becomes clear that the color scheme can actually work incredibly well if applied correctly. The key to a successful design is ensuring the purple is used for detailing, rather than competing with the main red base.
If the purple is too close to the main color, it does not fit as a full-season Bayern home kit, but rather as a special edition
If used for larger elements, it helps significantly if the purple leans heavily towards a bluish hue, naturally evoking memories of the iconic navy accents seen on Bayern Munich's kits throughout the late 1990s.
