Yesterday, AC Milan officially released their 2026-27 home kit. While the classic red and black striped design has been generally well-received by fans, a closer inspection reveals a rather downgrade on the replica version compared to the authentic, player-issue shirt.

When comparing the two commercial tiers of the new Milan kit side-by-side, a glaring discrepancy becomes immediately noticeable right at the end of the sleeves.
- Authentic Version: The authentic shirt features a carefully designed sleeve cuff. It is predominantly red, flanked by thin black borders on the top and bottom. This execution perfectly mirrors and matches the design language used on the collar.
- Replica Version: The replica version, however, completely abandons this cohesive detail. Instead of the striped pattern, it features a basic, solid black sleeve cuff.
This omission on the replica kit creates an unfortunate visual mismatch between the collar and the sleeve cuffs, arguably making the shirt look somewhat incomplete or cheaper compared to its premium counterpart.
If we look at the Borussia Dortmund 26-27 home kit, which is also made by Puma, there is no such discrepancy. For the German club, both the authentic and the replica versions proudly feature the exact same detailed striping on both the collar and the sleeve cuffs.
It remains unclear why Puma decided to simplify the Milan replica while maintaining the intricate cuff details across all tiers for Dortmund.
