Update - Monday, June 1, 2026: For fans wanting to get the official sleeve badge for their 2026 World Cup, things are looking bad. Confirmed by Gary Walker, it is completely impossible to purchase the authentic tournament patches individually. He was informed by the Adidas customer service that the badges are only available as a pre-applied add-on for brand-new online shirt orders, leaving supporters who loyally bought their national team kits months ago completely stranded.
This incredibly restrictive distribution model has also severely impacted independent kit retailers. Popular football specialists, such as Greaves, are entirely unable to source loose patches to press onto customer shirts because Adidas and FIFA are maintaining strict, exclusive control over the inventory.
The only hope currently seems to be that surplus boxes of patches might finally hit the open market after the World Cup concludes.

As we already reported some days ago, the 2026 World Cup sleeve badge comes with very strict rules for retailers selling them - the two hardest are that they are only available for new Adidas kits and not available individually.

Now, Adidas has started offering the primary tournament patch to the public, but the distribution remains incredibly restrictive. Currently, the official right sleeve badge is only available as a €/£10 add-on when purchasing a brand-new national team jersey, such as the Germany, Argentina and Scotland shirts, directly through the official Adidas webstore. The badge is not available as a single item.
The World Cup sleeve badges are not available for France and England, for example
This highly restricted retail strategy has created a massive issue for dedicated supporters who already purchased their national team kits months ago when they were initially released. Because the badges are strictly tied to new shirt purchases, these early buyers have no official way to buy the patch separately to apply retroactively, currently. Furthermore, fans of major nations equipped by other brands are completely out of luck, as federations like France and England currently do not offer the World Cup badge at all through any of their official retail channels.
To compound the frustration, the accompanying left sleeve badge, featuring FIFA's "Football Unites the World" campaign, is currently completely unavailable to the public across all platforms.
