Nike has officially ignited its 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign with the release of a blockbuster cinematic advert titled "Rip the Script."

Nike 2026 World Cup Ad

Serving as a rallying cry for players to ditch the tactical playbooks and embrace joyful, instinctive, and creative football, the epic six-minute short film sets the tone for the brand's massive summer rollout. Set inside a sprawling Hollywood mega-studio, the commercial sees the world's biggest football stars actively going "off script" to unleash absolute chaos on set, proving that the beautiful game is at its best when players trust their gut.

The casting for "Rip the Script" is nothing short of staggering, seamlessly blending modern superstars, revered footballing legends, and massive pop culture icons. Current global cover stars like Kylian Mbappé, Vini Jr., Erling Haaland, and Cristiano Ronaldo lead the charge on the pitch, with Mbappé notably breaking away from the defense to execute a stunning bicycle kick. They are joined in the freewheeling celebration by an elite roster of retired icons who continue to play by their own rules, including Ronaldinho, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Eric Cantona, Didier Drogba, and legendary Mexican goalkeeper Jorge Campos.

In the video, we get a look at the unreleased PSG 26-27 away kit, plus some blank national team kits for teams not (yet) sponsored by Nike - e.g. Germany and Portugal.

How does "Rip the Script" rank among the greatest Nike World Cup commercials of all time? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
