Official 2026 World Cup Player Patches Are "Literally a Sticker"

  • Patch Application Method: The official 2026 FIFA World Cup player honor patches are applied like easily removable stickers, shocking collectors with their lack of permanence.
  • Intended Purpose vs. Reality: Though designed for easy removal after matches to be added to exclusive trading cards, the patches are proving too loose and are falling off during games.
  • Broader Patch Controversies: This quality control issue is the latest in a series of logistical nightmares for the 2026 World Cup patches, which include unavailability, design clashes, and convoluted rotation plans.

The ongoing saga surrounding the official 2026 FIFA World Cup player honor patches has just taken yet another frustrating turn. The debut patches are nothing but easily removable stickers.

World Cup Debut Patches Are Applied Like a Sticker

A video shared on X by the kit community account @ForbiddenShirts shows the Belgium kit men applying the World Cup 2026 Debut" patch simply by sticking it to the shirt. The ease with which the patch lifts away from the fabric has shocked collectors, prompting the account to remark, "And now we know why... literally a sticker."

The debut patch is intended to be removed after the match and added to exclusive Topps trading cards. Of course, it therefore has to be removable quite easily, but they made it so loose that it already comes off during the match.

This quality control revelation is just the latest in a long string of controversies surrounding the 2026 World Cup patches. Between the complete unavailability of loose patches for independent purchase, the clashes on some like Brazil's & Germany's, and the convoluted plan to rotate left-sleeve campaign badges for almost every single round, the sleeve patch situation has been a logistical nightmare from the start.

No More Nike: Adidas Croatia 2026 Training Kits Revealed

Following their switch from Nike to Adidas, Croatia's new training kit set for 2026 have been unveiled in the latest training camp for youth teams' goalkeepers.

However from what we've seen, both of the new jerseys are simply from Adidas Tiro 26 League template range, using default black and grey color choices. These are very likely just temporary options for the mean time, until the actual designs with probably bespoke colorways are officially released.

What do you think of the new Adidas Croatia 2026 training kits? Let us know in the comments below.

FC Barcelona 26-27 Third Kit Font Leaked

Following the leak of FC Barcelona's 26-27 third kit, kit expert @memorabilia1899 has provided a first look at the custom typeface that will feature on the back of the jersey. The bespoke font design continues Nike's trend of pairing unique typography with its high-profile club kit releases for the season.

The typography features a sharp, geometric design with clean blocky angles for the player numbers, rendered in dark navy blue and bordered by a bright red outline. The player name is printed in arched, bold sans-serif lettering using the same color scheme, perfectly matching the teal body and red trim of the shirt.

This custom typeface will be worn on Barcelona's 26-27 third kit during cup fixtures and selected league games where customized fonts are permitted. The contrasting red outline gives the player names and numbers clear visibility against the light teal graphic backdrop.
