Made by Hummel, the kit's final look was decided entirely by supporters through an open design competition that received nearly 200 entries before being whittled down to a three-way final.
SC Paderborn 26-27 Special Kit
This is the winning concept for the Hummel SC Paderborn 2026-27 special jersey, designed by Stefan Wecker.
Stefan Wecker's retro-inspired proposal claimed victory with 44 percent of the public vote. The shirt combines a deep navy blue base with warm cream detailing, finished with elegant pinstripes across the torso and iconic Hummel chevrons on the sleeves.
A street map of the city of Paderborn is integrated directly into the fabric pattern, while the inner neck displays the geographic coordinates of the historic Hermann-Löns-Stadion to honor the club's roots.
The voting ran until September 11, 2026, with Wecker's kit prevailing over two other distinct finalists selected by an internal jury. Vincent Wirxel's classic blue-and-black striped proposal took second place with 34.9 percent of the votes, featuring delicate checkerboard accents along the stripes in homage to predecessor club 1. FC Paderborn. Kevin Griskewitz's limestone-colored shirt, inspired by the facade of Paderborn Cathedral and the waters of the River Pader, finished third with 21.1 percent.
Club officials and Hummel will collaborate closely with Stefan Wecker over the coming months to fine-tune small production details and ensure the kit meets all official DFL Bundesliga uniform regulations.
The completed jersey is scheduled to be officially launched and released for sale in the club shop in mid-March 2027, just ahead of the showdown with Bayer Leverkusen.
