Nike Replaces Adidas in Landmark UEFA Deal, Kipsta Deal Over as Well
The four-year agreement, running from the 27-28 campaign through 30-31, unites all three UEFA men's club tournaments under a single ball brand for the first time. The tender process, conducted by UEFA Club Competitions SA (UC3) alongside commercial partner Relevent Football Partners, saw Nike outbid competitors including long-time partner Adidas and Puma. The total value of the agreement is estimated at over €40 million per year, roughly doubling the combined revenue of the previous arrangements.
This marks the end of an iconic chapter for the UEFA Champions League. Adidas has supplied the tournament's official match ball since 2001, making the recognizable starball construction a hallmark of European football nights for over a quarter of a century. Meanwhile, Decathlon's football division Kipsta, which took over as match ball supplier for the Europa League and Conference League in 2024, will also conclude its term at the end of 26-27.
