New Logo Unveiled: Sheffield FC, the world's oldest independent football club, officially revealed a radical, modernized circular logo on June 30, 2026, ahead of the 2026-27 season, replacing their traditional shield crest.
Inspiration and Club Rationale: The club stated the new design was inspired by their unique FIFA Order of Merit status and historic gold medal, featuring stripped-back essentials like initials and the 1857 formation year, defending it as a move to honor the past while embracing a new era.
Immediate Negative Reaction: The redesign was met with widespread negative feedback on social media, with fans and critics describing it as a 'horrible' and 'boring' downgrade that stripped away the club's historic charm and unique character.

Sheffield FC, widely recognized as the world's oldest independent football club, has officially unveiled a completely redesigned logo ahead of the 2026-27 season. The ninth-tier English side revealed the new crest on June 30, 2026, marking a dramatic change to their visual identity. Out goes the previous shield flanked by two players, and in comes a modernized, circular badge that has immediately sparked debate across the footballing community.

New Sheffield FC 2026 Logo

The club's announcement highlighted that the fresh design was inspired by their unique status as holders of the FIFA Order of Merit and a historic gold medal. Stripped back to its core essentials, the new crest features the club's initials, the 1857 formation year, and a refreshed color palette. Sheffield FC defended the move as a way to honor their past while building for a new era, stating that the club has worn many badges since its inception and has never stood still.

The immediate reaction on social media has been very negative. Fans and football kit enthusiasts have taken to platforms like X to voice their disappointment, with many labeling the redesign as a massive downgrade. Critics have described the new look as boring and a step backward, arguing that the modernized circular template strips away the historic charm and unique character of the previous shield design.

As Sheffield FC prepares for their upcoming 2026-27 campaign, it remains to be seen whether the club will address the backlash or stand firm on their new visual direction.

Classy AGF Aarhus 26-27 Third European Kit Released

Danish Superliga side AGF Aarhus has officially unveiled its new 26-27 European / third kit, designed by Craft. Referred to as the "Europatrøje," the strip completes the club's wardrobe for the campaign and will make its debut during AGF's UEFA Conference League group stage run, starting with their fixture against KAA Gent.

The Craft AGF Aarhus 26-27 third jersey delivers a sophisticated, vintage-inspired look in a sand and cream palette. Subdued tonal pinstripes run vertically down the body, complemented by contrasting dark navy accents on the classic polo collar, sleeve cuffs, and shoulder seam piping. Instead of the standard club crest, the shirt features a retro stylized AGF script logo on the left chest, accompanied by clean navy monochrome sponsor details.

Matching cream shorts and dark navy socks complete the clean aesthetic of the full uniform. The design pays tribute to the club's founding in 1880 as a gymnastics association, proudly represented by the launch campaign motto "En Gymnastikforening I Europa."

Cambridge United 26-27 Fourth Kit Released - Syd Barrett Tribute

Umbro and League One outfit Cambridge United have officially launched a striking new fourth kit for the 26-27 season, celebrating the life and artistic legacy of Cambridge native and Pink Floyd co-founder Syd Barrett. Developed in collaboration with the Barrett Estate, the special-edition strip blends local cultural history with a charitable purpose ahead of World Mental Health Day.

The shirt is defined by an abstract diamond-geometric graphic across the front and sleeves, paying direct homage to the Pink Floyd masterpiece Shine On You Crazy Diamond. Its vibrant orange, blue, and grey accents draw inspiration from the painted floorboards featured on the cover of Barrett's iconic 1970 solo album, The Madcap Laughs. The jersey is completed with a deep navy spread collar tipped in orange, a circular retro club crest, and a custom tribute jock tag near the lower hem.

Cambridge United will debut the kit this Saturday, October 10, when they host Blackpool at the Abbey Stadium. A portion of sales from replica shirts as well as the proceeds from an upcoming auction of match-worn jerseys will be donated to local mental health initiatives. The kit is available to purchase immediately through the club's official online store.

Generational Clash: Marcos Acuña Wears Mismatched Predator 25 and 26 Boots

River Plate defender Marcos Acuña caught the eye in recent training by stepping onto the pitch in an...

River Plate defender Marcos Acuña caught the eye in recent training by stepping onto the pitch in an unusual boot setup. The Argentine international was spotted wearing two different generations of the Adidas Predator line simultaneously, lacing up the newer Predator 26 on his left foot and sticking with the previous-generation Predator 25 on his right foot.

While both cleats share a similar white, black, and red aesthetic, the technology beneath them differs significantly. The Predator 26 features a revised, lightweight textile mesh construction with updated grip elements and a restructured soleplate, contrasting with the HybridTouch 2.0 synthetic upper and tooling found on the Predator 25. Opting for different generations across each foot is often a sign of a player testing new tech, managing minor fit and comfort preferences, or dealing with foot sensitivity on his dominant striking foot.

Mismatched boots are relatively uncommon at the top level, and combining consecutive generations of the same silo is an especially rare boot spot. It remains to be seen whether Acuña will stick to this split setup in official matches or complete the full switch to the Predator 26 in the near future.
