Update - Sunday, June 14, 2026: The entry phase of the "World Cup Chaos Vol. 1 (SCXIII): Dynamic Duos Kit" competition is now closed. More than 400 designers submitted their designs, with voting starting tomorrow.
With the 2026 World Cup fast approaching, Footy Headlines, FIFA Kit Creator, and Kitbag have officially teamed up to launch the ultimate summer design tournament: the "World Cup Chaos" series. Volume 1 of this massive competition is officially live on the Kit Creator Showcase, and the first theme challenges the design community to revive some of the most iconic, long-lost team and brand partnerships in international football history.
World Cup Chaos Vol. 1
Titled "Dynamic Duos," the opening round tasks creators with designing an unsponsored kit for a classic World Cup partnership of the distant past. To enter, participants must strictly utilize one of five legendary national team and manufacturer combinations: Argentina with Le Coq Sportif, Brazil with Umbro, England with Admiral, Mexico with Nike, or the Netherlands with Adidas. While the brand pairings are locked in, designers are granted complete creative freedom over the kit's colors and patterns to bring these historic partnerships into the modern era.
The stakes for the World Cup Chaos series are high. The winner of this opening volume - along with the champions of the subsequent two open rounds - will each receive a £125 Kitbag voucher and a free one-year Plus Ultimate membership courtesy of Footy Headlines. Furthermore, the top-ranked designers from these initial rounds will qualify for a grand invitational playoff later this summer, where the ultimate champion will walk away with a highly coveted Lifetime Kit Creator Premium Membership.
Which of these five classic national team and brand combinations would you like to see return? Head over to the Kit Creator Showcase to enter, and let us know your favorite historic World Cup duo in the comments below.

South Africa Debut Silver Adidas Climacool Cooling Jacket At 2026 World Cup
South Africa debuted the new Adidas Climacool cooling jacket in a striking silver colorway at the 2026 World Cup. The look evoked memories of spacesuits.
The Adidas Climacool system is engineered specifically to lower core body temperature and improve heat tolerance in hot and humid conditions - exactly the kind of environment teams face at a summer World Cup in the USA and Mexico. The system consists of three components: a cooling vest, jacket and overshoe, with the vest worn over the player's jersey containing a specialised gel that is frozen before use and slowly thaws to keep players cool as they prepare to take the pitch.
FIFA Orders Egypt to Remove 7 Stars From 2026 World Cup Kit And Change Numbers Color
FIFA has instructed the Egyptian Football Association to remove the seven stars from their 2026 World Cup kit. The stars, which represent Egypt's record seven Africa Cup of Nations victories, violate FIFA's strict equipment regulations for the tournament. Under these rules, stars displayed on national team jerseys at the World Cup are exclusively reserved for nations that have won the FIFA World Cup.
In addition to the removal of the stars, FIFA has directed Egypt to change the color of the player names and numbers on their shirts. The original design featured gold lettering, which FIFA deemed insufficient for broadcast visibility, requiring the team to switch to white text instead.
