Adidas CEO Confirms Special Germany Farewell Kit for Nations League
Adidas CEO Björn Gulden has officially confirmed that the German national team will wear a special farewell shirt for their upcoming UEFA Nations League matches in late 2026. Speaking on the Spielmacher podcast, Gulden revealed that a dedicated farewell jersey will be released and worn on pitch as Adidas prepares to conclude its legendary, seven-decade partnership with the German Football Association (DFB). Big thanks to MiaSanMia.
The special kit marks the emotional conclusion of a historic relationship that began in 1954 and spanned all four of Germany's men's World Cup triumphs as well as multiple European Championship titles. With Nike set to take over as the DFB's official kit supplier at the start of 2027, the upcoming Nations League fixtures will serve as the final on-pitch appearance for Die Mannschaft in Adidas gear.
Leaked images show that the farewell jersey features a predominantly black base accented with vertical gold diamond pinstripes down the front, paired with the iconic Adidas Trefoil logo and a classic DFB crest. Finished with retro-inspired V-neck collar and cuff detailing, the commemorative shirt offers a stylish tribute to one of the most successful kit partnerships in football history.
