Borussia Dortmund's Julian Weigl Switches to Nike Magista Boots

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl has switched from the first generation of the Nike Hypervenom Cleats to the Nike Magista Opus Boots. He debuted the low-cut version of Nike's control boot in yesterday's Bundesliga match against SV Werder Bremen.

Julian Weigl previously laced up in the Volt Nike Hypervenom Phantom I Boots. Interestingly, he also wore the low-cut version of the second-gen Nike Hypervenom Cleats in Borussia Dortmund's pre-season matches and the first Bundesliga match of the season against FC Augsburg, while he had worn the first generation of the boots until yesterday.

Julian Weigl wore a non-modified version of the Nike Magista Opus Football Lightning Storm Pack Boots. Combining a golden-brown upper with a Volt splatter graphic pattern, the Dark Citron Nike Magista Opus 2015-2016 Boots are designed to be unique (and to look outdated rather fast).

Interestingly, Julian Weigl got three different boots in Borussia Dortmund's dressing room to choose from. The Borussia Dortmund youngster can at least switch between the Nike Magista Opus, the first-gen Nike Hypervenom and the second-gen low-cut Nike Hypervenom during a match.

It's remarkable that various players such as Neymar (Camouflaged Nike Hypervenom Phinish), Weigl's teammate Aubameyang (Nike Mercurial Superfly) and Mandzukic (Nike Mercurial Vapor X) did not fall in love with the second-gen Nike Hypervenom Boots and have switched to a range of other cleats since the launch of the boots in May 2015.
