Russia Euro 2016 Away Kit | First Adidas Away Kit On-Pitch Debut

It's all about the shorts and numbers. Russia today has become the first team sponsored by Adidas to debut their new away kit after almost all European Adidas federations debuted their new home jerseys in yesterday's friendlies and Euro 2016 play-off matches.

It was quite a surprise when Russia entered the pitch wearing their brand-new away shirt in the friendly against Portugal in Krasnodar as it was expected that Russia would wear the new Adidas Home Jersey in the home match. However, it was a successful debut for the classy kit as Russia won the match against Portugal 1-0.

While the look of the white and red shirt was as expected, it were the bold shorts that caught the attention of viewers. Featuring no Three Stripes but extremely large numbers, it was easy to identify the players on the pitch just from the short numbers, which are about twice as large as usual.

Apart from that, the kit combination mirroring the tricolor of the Russian flag is a nice change compared to the all-white away kit Russia wore in the 2014 World Cup.

Extremely large numbers. What do you think of the first on-pitch impression of an Adidas Euro 2016 Away Kit? Let us know in the comments below.
