Leaked: Mystery Adidas Özil Prototype Boots Included Cutting-Edge Tracking Beacons

This is the mystery boot Mesut Özil was wearing almost two years ago. Instagram user @cairocleats has gotten his hands on the one-of-a-kind Adidas Ace Prototype Boots worn by Mesut Özil in April 2014. And while he not only put the ultra-rare cleats in his boot vault, the quite famous boot collector did not only published a picture of his boot but even revealed previously unknown secrets about the cleats that Arsenal's Mesut Özil showed off in late Spring 2014.

On April 23 in 2014, Mesut Özil surprisingly laced up in a never-seen-before Adidas Prototype Boot. And while it was back then not possible to say whatMesut Özil was wearing, it's since the first leaks of the Adidas Ace Boots known that the German international wore a really early prototype of the Adidas Ace Boots.

Adidas Ace 2014 Prototype Boots Revealed

This is the early Adidas Ace Prototype Soccer Boot that was worn by Mesut Özil more than 18 months ago.

Boasting a stealth look, the black Adidas Ace Mesut Özil Prototype Boots feature a remarkable white dot upper pattern on the forefoot area that is made to judge the movement of synthetic materials across the foot (so-called tracking beacons).

The front area of the Adidas Ace 2014 Özil Prototype Football Boots comes with a leather-like material, while the heel area is made from a stiff synthetic material. On the tongue is the production date of the one-of-a-kind Adidas Ace Prototype Cleats (early 2014).

However, whereas the upper is quite similar to the final edition of the Adidas Ace 2015 Cleats, the sole plate has nothing in common with the one of the Ace but is in fact the outsole of the Adidas Predator Instinct, which was discontinued ahead of the launch of the Adidas Ace.
