New Borussia Dortmund signing and German international Andre Schürrle could make the switch from the Adidas X to the Adidas Ace boots after he was spotted wearing both an old colorway of the Adidas X 15.1 leather cleat as well as the leather Adidas Ace 16.1 cleat from Adidas' Euro 2016 Mercury pack this pre-season.

Andre Schürrle wore the Adidas X 15.1 leather boot in the DFL Supercup.

Andre Schürrle's Adidas Ace Boot is the same as the standard version of the low-cut leather control boot, and both his Adidas X 16.1 PureChaos leather boot (worn during Euro 2016) as well as his Adidas X 15.1 leather boots are also not modified.

Andre Schürrle most of the time wore the Adidas X 16 PureChaos boot during this year's Euro, while he wasn't spotted with the cutting-edge faux-laceless cleats after the tournament.
