Mercurial For Life: Here's Franck Ribéry's Full Boot History

Having celebrated 34th birthday yesterday, Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribéry is tipped to be pivotal to his club's chances against Borussia Dortmund later today and Real Madrid next week.

In this post, we want to take a look at the Frenchman's full boot history and find out whether he has been wearing Nike Mercurial boots for all of his career.

A youth product of Boulogne, Ribéry first break through in the 2004-05 Ligue 1 season at FC Metz. Almost as expected, he was already wearing Nike Mercurial cleats at the time. After just a half season in France's top flight, Ribéry made the unusual switch to Turkish giants Galatasaray who he already left after just another six month to join Marseille on a free.

It was there that Ribéry's stock really began to rise. He quickly joined the French national team and played a role in finishing as runner-ups in 2006 World Cup. All while still sporting the Mercurial Vapor III.

A year on, in 2007, Ribéry joined Bayern Munich, the club where he's still playing today and is under contract at until 2018.

He's still wearing Nike Mercurial Vapor boots and stayed true to the low-cut version of the model when Nike introduced the Dynamic Fit collar in 2014.
