Arsenal are Not Able Yet.. Hamburg Signs First-Ever Sleeve Sponsor Deal With Allowance Of Main Sponsor Fly Emirates
Just in time for their first match of the 2017-2018 Bundesliga season against Augsburg, German club Hamburger SV signed their first-ever sleeve sponsorship deal with Popp Feinkost (Feinkost translates), a delicatessen food maker.
Hamburger SV Announce Popp Feinkost Sleeve Sponsor Deal
Popp Feinkost becomes the club's new sleeve and delicatessen sponsor for two years until 2019. German newspaper BILD reports that new Hamburger SV Popp Feinkost sleeve sponsorship deal is reported to be worth up to 1.5 million Euro / season.
Interestingly, it has been also revealed that the deal became only possible as main sponsor Fly Emirates resigned from their right to be the exclusive sponsor visible on the kit. Arsenal's current deal with Fly Emirates, which was signed back in 2012 and will run until the end of the 2018-19 season, does also not allow the club to have a extra sponsor on the sleeves. There are no signs yet that Fly Emirates resigns from their exclusive right.
Only four Bundesliga clubs are without a sleeve sponsor now (Augsburg, Freiburg, Leverkusen, Köln), while Bayern Munich's deal with Qatar's Hamad International Airport is the most lucrative deal signed yet (around 10 million Euro / year).
