In the past few weeks, we took a detailed look at the shirt history of some of Europe's biggest teams such as Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid. Now let's take a look at all Milan home kits in history.

Whereas Milan's arch rivals Juventus wore a pink shirt in the first years after the club's foundation, Milan's kit has always been red and black. Red and black were chosen to represent the players' fiery ardor (red) and the opponents' fear to challenge the team (black). Rossoneri, the team's widely used nickname, literally means "the red & blacks" in Italian, in reference to the colors of the stripes on its jersey.

Milan had been using the St. George cross from the city's coat of arms from the club's foundation until the 1940s, while the club had no logo stitched on their shirts or just the Scudetto on the jerseys until the late 1990s. Since then, the modern Milan club logo has been present on the shirt, with some exceptions such as in the 1999-00 centenary season when the club used to the classic St. George's cross.

In total, AC Milan has had seven different kit suppliers in their history so far. Adidas has been making Milan's jerseys since 1998 when they took over from Lotto.
