Nike Phantom Vision 'Raised on Concrete' 2018 Boots Revealed

Following the official reveal earlier today, let's take a look at the debut colorway of the brand-new Nike Phantom VSN football boot. Although the 'Stealth Ops' blackout edition will drop tomorrow, the proper debut look for the Magista successor is the grey-red one from the so-called 'Raised on Concrete' pack, which will drop on July 30.

Nike has chosen a relatively understated set of colors to debut the brand-new Phantom Vision soccer cleat silo in. Predominantly light gray or white, the Nike Phantom Vision Elite boots also feature darker shades of gray and a bright red, in a color-blocking design.

Red is used for the control zone on the inside of the Nike Phantom Vision 2018 football boots, as well as the laces, which are normally hidden by the 'Ghost Lace system'. All brandings, including the rather oddly placed Swoosh on the inside front of the Nike Future10 boots, are black. Finally, the collar, which is not directly connected to the upper, is dark gray.

Tech-wise, the Nike Phantom Vision Elite obviously takes inspiration from the Magista Obra 2, although the latter's 3-D upper texture is dropped for a much more subtle variant that consists of small triangular shapes that cover the upper, most prominently on the red part. Besides that, the upper of the Nike Future10 boots is still Flyknit and includes ACC (All Conditions Control) for improved ball control under adverse conditions.

Easily the most exciting new feature about the Nike Phantom Vision boot, however, is the new 'Ghost Lace' system, which is basically a lace-cover construction not unlike the one on the Adidas X Purespeed. It's the first time in many years that Nike applies something like this on one of its boots.

Not that much different from the Magista II, the sole plate of the Nike Phantom Vision soccer boots features a combination of bladed, conical and triangular studs.
