Bayern München Merchandising Sales Drop by More Than 10 Million Euro

The merchandising turnover of Bundesliga champions FC Bayern Munich fell below the 100 million Euro mark for the first time in four years to 96.9 million, it has been revealed. The record champion made exactly 11.3 million Euro less turnover in the 2016/2017 financial year (96.9 million instead of 108.2 million previously), lost 10.4 percent. This is also confirmed by a SPORT BILD survey among all 18 Bundesliga clubs: 14 clubs were able to increase or maintain their merchandising sales, with only Hannover 96 (700,000 Euro), Dortmund (400,000 Euro) and Gladbach (not specified) registering a decline.

"It's a very high level of stability. We see great growth potential abroad," says Dortmund CEO Carsten Cramer, who frankly admits: "In the national market growth also depends on extraordinary success, such as the achievement of finals and winning titles. Borussia Dortmund is at a very high level here, we usually commute between 35 and 40 million Euro. In fact, the growth over the years has been different before."
