Schalke Forward Reveals Blackout Next-Gen Adidas X 18 World Cup Boots

Schalke Forward Cedric Teuchert was pictured wearing a pair of blacked-out next-gen Adidas X 18.1 football boots this week as the 2018 World Cup edition of the silo takes shape ahead of its expected June debut. Thanks to @bumbumtoni_official for the heads-up.

Perhaps interestingly, Teuchert only joined Schalke from Nuremberg this winter, a team that's situated not far from Adidas' headquarters and therefore often ends up testing products during the development phase.

Courtesy of Teuchert comes the best look yet at the X 18.1 tier after Manchester City's Gabriel Jesus wore a pair of blackout X 18+ prototypes all the way back in September 2017.

It's certainly a big jump from the X 17 and what stands out immediately is the new, aggressive 3 Stripe placement on the outside front of the shoe. The collar shape and structure has also been changed up a lot by Adidas.

Debut colorway (18.3 takedown)

All in all, certain Adizero comparisons that have been made (and certainly continue to be made) are not that far of the mark - something that will certainly please a lot of fans of the silo which was discontinued in 2015.

The Adidas X 18 cleats will debut at the 2018 World Cup in Russia and are slated for a release in early June 2018.
