Insane? Mexican Goalkeeper Wears Gloves Sponsored by Red Bull

Mexican goalkeeper Gibran Lajud from Liga MX club Club Tijuana has caught the attention of football fans in Mexico as he debuted goalkeeper gloves that boast the logo of energy drink maker Red Bull. Thanks to @abcdefutbol for the spot.

Gibran Lajud began his professional career in the youth academy of of Cruz Azul. He joined Tijuana's Xolos de Tijuana on loan in 2014, where he made his debut in the first team. Lajud Gibran has been part of the Mexican U-23 national team for number of years and co. He is officially sponsored by Red Bull.

The goalkeeper gloves fro Gibran Lajud are made by Mexican goalkeeper brand Rinat. However, they just boast the logo of Rinat on the punch area, while the white catch area comes with the logo of his sponsor Red Bull. The gloves also feature his name as well as the Mexican flag.

Lajud has a contact with Nike for his football boots since March this year. He was previously sponsored by Adidas.

Interestingly, this type of sponsorship would be forbidden in competitions such as the FIFA World Cup as the gloves are only allowed to feature the manufacturer's logo.
