Wolves to Ditch Controversial Shirt Sponsor for Premier League Return

Wolverhampton Wanderers will ditch controversial jersey sponsor The Money Shop as they head into the Premier League, according to a report by local paper Express & Star.

Wolves had signed a three-year deal with the payday loan company in 2016 and have now paid off the firm in order to be able to sign a new sponsorship to start with the 2018-19 season.

Wolverhampton's partnership with The Money Shop has been at the center of criticism from supporters ever since it was signed two years ago, with more than 13,000 people signing a petition opposing the deal back in 2016 complaining that the company’s practices ‘do not fit with the ethics of the football club’.

It remains to be seen who'll become the new Wolves 18-19 shirt sponsor for the club's return to the Premier League.
