The new Premier League font that was revealed in 2017 was only the second update of the streamlined English Premier League font. In fact, the English Premier League introduced a streamlined kit font not before 1997 (before 1997 teams used their own font). The original EPL font was updated in 2007 after 10 years and again changed after 10 years, with the latest new look in 2017.
