BVB Wants More Money - Borussia Dortmund in Talk With Puma Over New Kit Deal

Some days ago, it was reported that Puma and Borussia Dortmund would have extended their kit deal until 2025 (the current deal is valid until 2022). Now different German newspapers revealed that BVB and Puma have not extended their kit deal yet.

Borussia Dortmund and Puma had come together in 2012 and agreed on an eight-year contract until 2020. This agreement also included an option until 2022, which was in the drawn by Puma. Both sides are interested in extending their partnership beyond the previously fixed end of 2022.

Puma In Talks With BVB Over Extension of Kit Deal Until 2025

After an interview with Puma CEO Björn Gulden, "Wirtschaftswoche" had announced an extension of the supplier contract - and indicated a term until 2025. This would be not correct, as Carsten Cramer, managing director for distribution, marketing and digitization, clarified on Sunday on demand of kicker.

Talks about a continuation of the partnership beyond 2022 are ongoing. However, these talks are not yet at a final stage. Should Borussia Dortmund and Puma find a common denominator, the customary practice in the industry is that the contract will run much longer than just until 2025 - and that the annual salary will increase substantially from the current level of around nine million Euro.

In fact, BVB wants to get a least from than a third of the sum Bayern Munich is getting, e.g. more than 20 million / season (Bayern is getting 60 million Euro / season). Puma would have offered 18 million Euro.
