Replacing Adidas - Macron Becomes La Liga Referee Kit Supplier

Italian brand Macron and the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) today announced a deal that will see the Italian company becoming the official technical sponsor of the referees of the RFEF. The announcement was made in Madrid at the HQ of the federation by the President of the RFEF, Luis Rubiales, and Gianluca Pavanello, CEO of Macron.

Macron Signs 8-Year Deal To Supply RFEF Referees

Starting from the 2020-21 season, the Italian company will become the official technical sponsor of the referees of the RFEF (Royal Spanish Football Federation). The referees will wear Macron in all RFEF competitions, including La Liga, Liga2, Segunda Division B, Copa del Rey Primera Division Women as well as all other important competitions and all the regional competitions of Andalucía, Aragón, Principado de Asturias, Canarias, Cantabria, Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha, Cataluña, Ceuta, Comunidad Valenciana, Comunidad de Madrid, Extremadura, Galicia, La Rioja, Islas Baleares, Melilla, Región de Murcia, Navarra, País Vasco.

The president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, Luis Rubiales, wanted to express his satisfaction because "we share values. You have reached the highest level and you are at the forefront. We are happy that the seventeen thousand Spanish referees are going to wear the clothes of the leaders, Macron".

"We are proud to announce this agreement with the RFEF" - said Gianluca Pavanello - "It is a further confirmation at international level of the quality of our product and becoming the technical sponsor of the Royal Spanish Football Federation's refereeing sector is a reward for the commitment, professionalism and passion we put into our work every day. The importance of the Spanish football championship increases even more the visibility of our brand in the European scenario, which already sees us as protagonists together with many important clubs and federations. The commitment, together with the RFEF, is to give referees, at all levels, products of the highest profile both from a technical and design point of view".

Today’s announcement represents the latest loss of RFEF inventory for Adidas. Earlier this month, the RFEF unveiled a futsal kit supply deal with Spanish firm Joma after recovering various rights from adidas.

The new deal with RFEF is the next prestigious deal for Macron in the world of soccer. Macron last year agreed a deal to become the referee kit supplier for all UEFA competitions until 2022.

England 2026 World Cup Kit Font Prepared with Laser

Football kit retailer @subsidesports has offered a behind-the-scenes look into their printing operations ahead of the 2026 World Cup. In a recent social media update, the company shared a video of their heat press machinery in action, highlighting the process behind their Fan Style customization service. This service utilizes official typefaces and plotter sheets to apply names and numbers to replica shirts, ensuring an authentic look for supporters.

The short video features what eagle-eyed followers suspect to be a Transmatic REV 5SA heat press, a heavy-duty machine used for professional garment decoration.

One standout detail is that they used lasers to ensure the names and numbers were placed with absolute precision on the back of the jerseys. It’s a testament to Subside Sports’ commitment to craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Adidas Teams Twinned by Product Code & Design

Update - Sunday, June 7, 2026: As spotted Indonesian jersey experts @Jerseyforum, Adidas teams with the same design also share the product. In particular, they do not have the usual Team + Shirt Type Name (e.g. FCB A 26 JSY), but are called Custom Licensed Jersey (CULIC26 JSY).

Templates are not as common as they were in the past, but smaller Adidas teams still do not have custom designs always. In the outgoing 25-26 season, teams such as Düsseldorf, Al Ahly, and Sparta Praha all used the same Locker Room design with custom colors.
