Liverpool 20-21 Third Kit Inspired By Nike Mercurial TN 2019?
Yesterday, we revealed what are the Air Max inspirations of every Nike 20-21 third kit except that of Liverpool. Now we have been made aware that the Liverpool FC 20-21 third jersey might be inspired by the Nike Mercurial TN 2019.
The Nike Mercurial TN was released on July 24, 2019. The shoe combines stylistic elements from both the new Nike Mercurial and the Nike Air Max Plus. The two launch colorways "have an iridescent checkered graphic that nods to traditional football kits".

So far, only the socks of Liverpool's 20-21 third jersey have been leaked. They boast a checkers pattern, similar to the Nike Mercurial TN 2019.

Other things that might it likely that the Nike Mercurial TN 2019 was used as inspiration are the colors as well as the fact that Nike signed Liverpool in 2019 - some of the other Air Max inspirations are taken from the year that was remarkable in the history of the partnership, e.g. Barca x Air Max 98 (FC Barcelona has been wearing Nike kits since 1998).
The Liverpool 2020-2021 third kit will be released in late summer 2020.
