When Will The 20-21 Club Kits Be Released? Our Guess & First Leaked Info
The 2019-2020 season is interrupted since more than a month now. However, many of next season's kits got leaked - will we see the first 2020-21 releases soon?
If we look a the national team jerseys, the launches of the new shirts were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. While it is not known yet when Adidas and Puma will release their scheduled national team jerseys for 2020 (originally planned for March 2020).
2020-2021 Club Kit Release Dates
Last year, the first next season jersey to be released was Liverpool's new home kit by New Balance on 18 April 2019, exactly one year ago. Other kits followed from mid-May 2020, including the home shirts of Bayern Munich, Olympique Marseille and other clubs.
In 2020, all brands have scheduled to release their 2020-2021 home kits from mid-May 2020. Let us take a look at the big three brands.
Let us kick off with Nike as the info already got leaked - quite a few Nike jerseys including Barcelona and PSG were originally set to be unveiled as early as late April / May. The Nike 20-21 club home kits will instead now be released in July, according to @lasource75006.
Olympique Marseille 20-21 Home, Away & Third Kits Leaked
In the cases of Adidas and Puma, they wanted to release next season's home kits for Bayern, BVB and other clubs in mid-May 2020. We think that there might be some releases in May 2020, even though nothing is certain.
One reason for clubs to release next season's kits could be the money - it could help them to better overcome the financial affects of the coronavirus crisis. Many launches and the money of it was planned for May already.
Liverpool's 2020-2021 home kit by Nike will not be released before the end of the 2019-20 season - Nike will let Liverpool complete the season in New Balance kits despite their deal with the club officially commencing on June 1.
“Legally, it could have been enforced as the contract clearly states the date of June 1,” a senior Nike source explained to SoccerBible. “But it was decided that it just wouldn’t have been right to storm in and take over. Things have been very cordial.
“It was always the plan that Liverpool would start wearing Nike in pre-season ahead of the 2020-21 season and that remains the case. It’s only right that they see out the rest of this season in New Balance. We’re very much focused on next season.”
Some Scandinavian teams released their new 2020 jerseys despite the season not being kicked off before June likely.
