Classic Ajax Shirt Was Actually Based On Colors And Logo Of Sponsor
Ajax's kits of the 1990s are one of the most sought after kits in 2020. Many of them feature now iconic designs - however, now La Casaca made us aware that the Adidas Ajax 1992-93 is actually based on the colors and logos of their sponsor.
Adidas Ajax 1992-93 Away Kit Features Colors & Design of Sponsor
Combining a turquoise green main color with white for logos and a yellow graphic design, the Ajax 92-93 is unique and fresh. However, if we look at the logo of ABN AMRO, a Dutch bank, it becomes obvious that the design is based on the ABN AMRO logo.
Interestingly, ABN AMRO just became Ajax's main sponsor ahead of the 1992-93 season, meaning that the kit was almost certainly part of the sponsorship deal.
Other Ajax away jerseys of the early 1990s also have some things in common with the club's respective main sponsor, e.g. the iconic 1989-90 away kit and its blue, red, white colors / design.
Did you know that the Adidas Ajax Amsterdam 1992-93 Away Kit was based on the design and colors of ABN AMRO? Do you like the Ajax 92-93 away kit? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
