Puma Fakes 'Laser Cut Holes' For Mexican 2020-21 Authentic Player Issue Kits

Thursday, 23 July 2020
When Puma presented the new kits for Liga MX club Chivas and Rayados Monterrey, it appeared like that Mexican clubs are finally getting real authentic, Player Issue shirts from Puma. However, a closer look at the images of the new Puma 2020-21 authentic jerseys for the Liga MX teams reveals that this is no the case. Thanks to @EleteTSC and @ajg_7 for the heads-up.

Chivas 20-21 Home & Away Kits Released

Mexican Puma Authentic Kits Are "Only Half" Player Issue Jerseys

The Puma 2020-2021 Chivas and Rayados Player Issue football kits feature plastic rubber logos, just as the authentic kits of European and international teams like Italy, Milan and Dortmund. However, there is a major difference between the Mexican and global Puma kits.

The newly introduced 'ventilation holes' of the Mexican authentic jerseys are not really there but just printed on the kits. This is something you would not expect for an official product of Puma.

Another difference between the worldwide and Mexican Puma authentic kits is the fabric used for the jerseys.

The reason for all those things is the authentic Mexican Liga MX Puma kits are not produced in Puma's global fabrics but in Mexico.

The new Puma 2020-2021 Chivas replica and authentic football kits are available for $ 2,299.00 MXN (90 Euro) - authentic version, and $ 1,599.00 MXN (62 Euro) - replica version.
