Yesterday evening, Paris Saint-Germain faced Atalanta Bergamo in the quarter final of the 2019-2020 UEFA Champions League final tournament in Lisbon. Unlike some might expected, the Parisians were not wearing their 2020-2021 kit but their 2019-20 third kit - similar as FC Barcelona, who were wearing their old 2019-20 home kit. Let us find out why some Nike teams are wearing their old and others their new kit.

Nike Certainly Wants Teams To Wear 2019-20 Kits

While there is no official announcement by clubs and their supplier regarding their choice of kit, unofficial information says that Nike does want teams to wear their 2019-20 kits in the 2019-20 tournament.

Nike teams who did not wear their 2020-2021 jerseys are FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan - the brand's biggest and most important teams.

However, there are some Nike teams that already wore their 2020-2021 jerseys, most notably AS Roma and Chelsea. There are special reasons for that.
