On The Verge Of Wearing Puma Again After 20 Years - Here Is Robert Lewandowski's Full Boot History

Robert Lewandowski, who has been certainly the best No. 9 striker of the year, could switch brands after he has been spotted wearing blackout Puma Ultra football boots in training.

We take a look at the full football boot history of the Plosih striker, from his days as young child over his first team debut to that training session in late October 2020. Thanks to Japanese boot experts Kohei'sBLOG and Polish boot nerds Tepy for many of the images and information featured in this article.

Robert Lewandowski Football Boot History - Late 1990s Until 2020

Youth Years

Robert Lewandowski has been not sponsored by any brand until he made his first steps as professional

There are quite a few pictures of Robert Lewandowski as a young footballer when he was not sponsored by any brand. In his young days as small footballer, Lewandowski "opted" for standard Nike boots as well as lower-tier Puma boots. As many of today's best footballers, Robert Lewandowski has been not sponsored by any brand until he made his first steps to professional football.

First Years As Professional - Adidas Contract & Football Boots Before Joining Nike

Robert Lewandowski made his first steps in the senior game not for his teenager club Legia Warsaw but for for small "rural" Polish second division club Znicz Pruszków. Why Lewandowski chose to join a second division club? Lewandowski back then decided to play in the second division first instead of continuing at Legia Warsaw II to get playing practice on senior level, he recently revealed in an interview with Kicker.

In the two years after he made his debut as a teenager for small "rural" Polish second division club Znicz Pruszków in 2006 he was not wearing totally 'random' boots anymore but only Adidas boots (age: 16-18). In 2006-07, Lewandowski opted for the Adidas F50 TUNIT series, while he later also wore the Three Stripes' brand adiPure and Predator Absolute cleats in his "second division days".

Nike became interested in Lewy during his last years at Lech Poznań

Ahead of the 2008-09 season, Lewandowski joined famous club Lech Poznan, and that was also the time when he was on the nation's football field of view. During his last years in Lech Poznań, Nike became interested in the young Polish striker. Nike prepared a contract for him - Lewandowski started playing wth Total 90 boots (Laser III).

2010s - Lewandowski Becomes Nike Key Athlete At Borussia Dortmund & Joins Bayern München

Lewandowski wore the Nike Total 90 for BVB until Nike scrapped the silo

Robert Lewandowski joined BVB ahead of the 2010-11 season. He continued to wear the Nike Total 90 boots in his first years for Dortmund until Nike scrapped the silo for the Hypervenom in 2013.

Lewandowski's second and third years in Dortmund were very successful, and so the No. 9 quickly became a Nike key athlete - Robert Lewandowski was one of the faces of the Nike Hypervenom football boots silo.

Lewandowski match worn boots

In 2014, Lewandowski joined Bayern Munich, which should not stop rise. In 2015, Lewandowski received his first real signature boots from Nike - a unique red and black version of the Nike Hypervenom II with a Forged Fearless writing in red on the outside.

Lewandowski never became one of Nike's main superstars

Lewandowski has been scoring like a clockwork for Bayer Munich since ever he joined the club, but he never became one of Nike's main superstars but kept "in the second row" behind the likes of CR7, Neymar and rising stars like Mbappe.

Fall 2020 - Wears Discontinued Nike Phantom Venom Before Wearing Blackout Puma Ultra Cleats

Lewandowski kept switching between the brand-new NikePhantom GT football boots and the discontinued Nike Phantom Venom T90 edition. What was first expected to be just a a matter of taste, should turn out to be the first indicator that something is going on with his Nike contract.

On 29 October 2020, Lewandowski was totally surprisingly spotted wearing a blackout version of Puma's Ultra 1.1 football boots - a clear indicator that his time with Nike has ended and that Puma is close to sign him.

Bukayo Saka and Yan Diomande Debut Whiteout New Balance Furon V9 Boots

Arsenal talisman Bukayo Saka and Real Madrid signing Yan Diomande have both taken to the pitch wearing all-white New Balance Furon V9 boots at the start of the 26-27 campaign. Thanks to @volkyfootballboots.v2 for spotting.

As two of the primary headline athletes for New Balance's flagship speed silo, their synchronized switch away from standard on-pitch colorways to a whiteout look points toward an upcoming limited-edition pack or special release from the American brand in the near future.

It’s normal that brands hide their new flagship-shoes with a whiteout colorway until their release takes place officially, so competitors can’t already get an early glimpse into their newest design.
