Ed Sheeran Becomes Ipswich Town Kit Sponsor

English third league club Ipswich Town FC yesterday announced something really special - Music icon Ed Sheeran will be the main shirt sponsor of the club next season.

Ed Sheeran has been born in the Ipswich's Suffolk region and has been an Ipswich Town supporter since his early years.

Ed Sheeran's Tour Logo To Feature On Front of Ipswich Town Jerseys in 2021-22 Season

Ed Sheeran has agreed on an initial one-year deal with Ipswich Town that allows him to display a special logo on the kits - the logo probably stands for his next tour.

Ed Sheeran replaces Marcus Evans Group as the club shirt sponsor

Ed Sheeran replaces Carers Trust (a charity) as the shirt sponsor. The club had been sponsored by the Marcus Evans Group for many years before. Marcus Evans was the former chairman and owner of Ipswich Town F.C., which he bought in December 2007. He sold the club to a new U.S. consortium in April 2021.

“The Football Club is a big part of the local community and this is my way of showing my support,” said Ed. I have always enjoyed my trips to Portman Road and I’m looking forward to going back there as soon as supporters are allowed into stadiums again.

“With the new owners from the US coming in, there are sure to be exciting times ahead for Ipswich fans, including myself. Hopefully we can stop being sloightly on the huh!”

Town’s director of sales, Rosie Richardson, said: “We are obviously thrilled that Ed has agreed to become our shirt sponsor next season.

I have worked with Ed and his management team on various initiatives over the years and welcomed Ed and his guests to Portman Road for many games. He has shown his support for his hometown in lots of ways and this is another example of that."

Mockup of one a possible look of the ITFC 21-22 home kit

Ipswitch fan Dan, via ITFC Fans Page, created a mock-up of how the logo will look like on Ipswich Town's jerseys. Thanks to Piotr for the heads-up.

The new Adidas Ipswich Town 21-22 home kit will be released in June 2021 probably.

Puma Kits Keep Ripping at the 2026 World Cup

Puma is facing significant criticism at the 2026 World Cup as multiple national team jerseys have easily ripped during matches.

Incidents involving players from Czechia, Morocco, Egypt, and Paraguay have highlighted an ongoing durability issue with the brand's latest kits - every torn shirt in the tournament so far belongs to a Puma-sponsored team.

The Puma 2026 World Cup kits incorporate the latest version of PUMA's ULTRAWEAVE “Thermoadapt” technology, which obviously is not tear-resistant enough.

The recurring wardrobe malfunctions have resulted in terrible PR for the German sportswear manufacturer and even prompted the viral resurgence of Xherdan Shaqiri's infamous quote from Euro 2016, where he joked that he hopes Puma does not produce condoms.

Barrow AFC 2026-27 Home & Away Kits Released

National League side Barrow AFC have completed their 2026-27 kit lineup with the launch of their new away shirt. Made by Puma, the away kit follows the release of the club's home strip earlier this month, confirming the brand as their technical sponsor for the upcoming season.

The Barrow AFC 2026-27 home kit, originally unveiled on June 1, is billed as "125 Years In The Making." The design serves as a traditional and commemorative tribute to the Cumbrian club's 125th anniversary. The newly revealed away kit provides a contrasting alternative for their travels, rounding out the wardrobe as they prepare for their National League campaign following their recent relegation from League Two.

Special Commemorative Patches for 1000th FIFA World Cup Match

To mark a significant milestone in football history, special commemorative patches were featured during the 2026 FIFA World Cup Group F match between Tunisia and Japan in Monterrey. The fixture officially marked the 1000th match in the history of the tournament.

In recognition of the occasion, both the Japan and Tunisia national teams wore mini Match 1000 arm patches on their jerseys. The special detailing was spotted on the players' kits during the game, as well as on the shirts laid out in the dressing rooms beforehand.

The commemorative design was not limited to the competing teams, as the match officials also wore the Match 1000 patch on their referee kits. This subtle yet historic addition provided a unique touch to the kits for the milestone game.
