Adidas Recycles Manchester United 20-21 Kit Pattern
The new SL Benfica 21-22 home kit was released today. However, it does not feature a brand-new design.
Benfica 21-22 Home Kit Features Pattern Of Manchester United 20-21 Away Kit
The new Benfica 2021-22 home jersey features the same subtle engineered pattern as the Manchester United 2020-21 away kit. It was described as "an intricately hand-drawn and painted design" when Adidas launched the Manchester United kit last year.
It is nothing new that Adidas uses past-season designs of top clubs for other team's kits. Last year, Adidas recycled more than dozen old kit designs, including Real Madrid's galactic 18-19 third kit (Fenerbahce 20-21 third) and Spain's 2018 World Cup jersey (Wolves 20-21 Home).
Recently, Adidas and Benfica also announced the renewal of their kit deal for another six years (until 2027).

La Liga Announces Second Retro Matchday for 26-27 Season
Following the success of its inaugural edition last season, La Liga has officially confirmed that the Retro Matchday will return for the 2026-27 campaign. The announcement was made as part of the official La Liga calendar reveal, highlighting the league's commitment to celebrating football heritage.
The second edition of the Retro Matchday is scheduled to take place on Matchday 31, which falls on the weekend of April 11, 2027. During this round of fixtures, all participating clubs are expected to wear special heritage kits inspired by classic designs from their past.
By announcing the date alongside the season's fixture list, La Liga has given clubs and their respective kit manufacturers approximately ten months of notice. In 2027, we expect all teams (maybe without Real Madrid) to take part.

No More Puma: Meyba Leyton Orient 26-27 Away Kit Released
The new Leyton Orient away shirt was released today. It is made by Meyba, replacing Puma, and will be worn in the 2026-27 season.
The Meyba Leyton Orient 2026-27 away jersey pays tribute to the club's fallen heroes of the Battle of the Somme in 1916, marking the 110th anniversary of the historic event. The design reimagines one of the club's most iconic jerseys to honor the players who served and sacrificed their lives in the Footballers' Battalion during World War I.
Available to purchase in-store and online, the Meyba Leyton Orient 2026-27 away shirt marks the beginning of the club's new partnership with the Spanish sportswear brand, following their supplier switch from Puma earlier this year.
