Sparta Prague just announced that they are switching back to Adidas next season, having announced their departure from Nike just the day before.

Nike and Sparta Prague have gone separate ways, ending the 26 years partnership between the two party during which saw Sparta dominated the domestics league in the later half of the 90s and early 2000s.

"I would like to thank Nike for their many years of cooperation. During this long time, we have implemented many successful projects together." - says Tomáš Křivda, Director of AC Sparta Prague.

"The Nike logo will forever be associated with the history of our club."

Adidas To Become Sparta Prague's Kit Maker Again After 27 Years

While Nike enjoyed an exceptionally long partnership with Sparta, their most successful period was definitely with Adidas, who will return next season.

The resurgent in the early 80s with their first title in the 83-84 season since coming back from relegation, which then led to their total domination of the league.

The height of their success came in the 91-92 season when Sparta defeated Rangers and Marseille to reach the semi-final group of the Champions League. They finished the group in second, failing to reach the final.

Establishing cooperation with adidas is a significant and very visible change that will have a great impact, even towards our fans. I believe that the club symbols on the three-striped clothing will appeal to our supporters," comments Tomáš Křivda.

Krzysztof Luczakowski, Adidas' Director of Sports Marketing for Eastern Europe is delighted with the deal: "We are very pleased that we have the opportunity to cooperate with Sparta."

"[...] They have history and tradition, it is an organization that has earned respect among teams and fans throughout Europe."
