New Santiago Bernabéu to Feature Pitch Removal System & Navy Seats

Real Madrid have released a new video showing off the pitch removal and storage system of the renovated Santiago Bernabéu, called "Santiago Bernabéu of the 21st century" by the club.

Real Madrid's famous stadium is currently undergoing extensive renovation work. The Santiago Bernabeu renovation project is scheduled to be completed in 2022.

New Santiago Bernabéu Pitch Removal System

As showcased in the five minutes video, the new Santiago Bernabéu stadium will have a pitch removal and storage system. It allows the stadium to host a number of events in the future, including concerts, basketball matches, American football matches and tennis matches.

The storage facility underneath the surface will reportedly contain ventilation, irrigation, and lighting therapy that will preserve the maintenance and quality of the pitch while not in use.

Meanwhile, the specialist website Nuevo Estadio Bernabéu revealed that the new Santiago Bernabeu will feature navy blue seats, similar to Tottenham.

Real Madrid are currently playing all home matches at the stadium. They returned to the stadium in September 2021 after playing in the second team's stadium for more than a year.
