Napoli President Wants to Bring Back "Prancing Horse" Logo
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has hinted at the possibility of changing the club's emblem in the future.
Speaking at the presentation of the new book about Napoli by journalist Valter de Maggio, De Laurentiis stated that he thought it was a good idea to bring back the prancing horse from the club's first logo.
"I have said many times to my parents: let's recover the horse which is also the symbol of Ferrari and Porsche. If we want to fly high, we have to insert a prancing horse on the new Napoli shirt, as a symbol, together with the famous circled N," De Laurentiis said as quoted by Il Napolista (via @rupertalbe).
The original horse logo was used for just a year after the merger of several local clubs into SSC Napoli. The prancing horse, known as "Corsiero del Sole", is a symbol for the city of Napoli. It was adopted by Napoli Basket in 2020.
