FC Barcelona Wear Same Kit Four Years in a Row

Catalan giants FC Barcelona have a preference for a kit released more than two years ago.

On 12 November 2019, more than two years ago, FC Barcelona and Nike released a special Senyera fourth kit. Inspired by the Catalan flag, it was intended to be worn in a few select matches for the 2019-2020 season.

FC Barcelona 19-20 Senyera Fourth Kit Released + Full Collection

FC Barcelona debuted the 2019-2020 Senyera fourth kit against Atletico on December 1, 2019.

The Catalan club did wear it for several matches in the first half of 2020, including an away game against Espanyol on January 4, 2020.

While we expected the kit to be ditched for the 2020-21 season, this was not the case. Instead, Barcelona wore the kit in the 2021 Copa del Rey Final and other occasions in 2021.

Now, in the 2021-22 season, FC Barcelona are using the Senyera kit probably more often than in any other season before. This is also because the club did release two blue-red home kits (La Liga and Champions League) and only one light purple away kit.

We will watch out to see how often Barcelona will wear the kit again in the future.
