Real Madrid, Arsenal & More: History of Whiteout Kits

Arsenal today released a special all-white kit as part of a "No More Red", making aware of youth violence and knife crime. The North London club were not the first team to release a whiteout kit - we take a look at five all-white kits.

Before the 1970s/1980s, teams like England, Real Madrid, and Leeds already wore all-white kits. They are, however, no whiteouts - those have monochrome logos for example.

All-White Football Kits

One of the first teams to release an all-white football kit was Sporting Kansas City. The US team launched a white kit with silver logos.

In 2016, Denmark and Hummel released a whiteout kit, inspired by the concept of a blank page. Real Madrid and Adidas followed later that year with a whiteout Parley kit. For the kit, they used water-based paint in an environmentally friendly process.

Swedish club AIK, which are renowned for their great kits, launched a totally white kit with a gigantic crest in 2020.

Arsenal are the latest team to release a whiteout kit. It makes us aware of youth violence and knife crime - "No More Red".

Adidas Parley Real Madrid Kit

Obviously deriving from the iconic cleanness of Real Madrid's all-white home kits, the Adidas Parley Real Madrid kit manages to up this impression by combining a white base with subtly applied light grey logos. Those logos on the Adidas Parley Real Madrid jersey were printed onto the fabric using water-based paint in an environmental friendly process.

AIK Nike 2020 Behrens Jersey

Inspired by the club's first-ever jersey, The Nike AIK 2020 Behrens football shirt is white with a retro collar and a whiteout Nike logo. The standout feature is the big club crest on the left chest.
