Stuttgart Wear a Special Kit Sponsor

Stuttgart Wear a Special Kit Sponsor

In today's home match against Eintracht Frankfurt, Stuttgart wore a special message on their kits instead of their main sponsor. This was done to mark the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.

Stuttgart's Special Message

This weekend, VfB Stuttgart wanted to support the effort ("Nie Wieder!") of reminding the world about the horrific events which occurred several decades ago in German concentration camps.

The club and sponsor Mercedes-Benz Bank agreed to place a special message on the front of the shirt which reads: "Jeder Mensch zählt - Egal auf welchem Platz!" (Everyone counts - No matter on what pitch!).

Stuttgart are doing this to support anti-racism as well as act against discrimination towards people with disabilities. To symbolize inclusion, the captain also wore a rainbow colored armband.

Last season Stuttgart did something similar to this year, raising awareness by releasing a special rainbow-hoop kit.
