Nike Terminate Spartak Moscow Sponsorship
Nike have announced that they have ended their long-running partnership with Spartak Moscow. They had been making the Russian club's kits since 2005.
Nike End Spartak Moscow Sponsorship
Spartak Moscow announced on Thursday that they are looking for a new technical sponsor after Nike told them that they would no longer be partnering the club. In an emailed statement to Reuters on Friday, Nike said they had informed Spartak that "given UEFA's decision to suspend all Russian clubs from UEFA competition" they would be ending the contract.
Spartak's 21-22 kits will be the last made by Nike.
Nike had already suspended all online sales and operations in Russia in the wake of the country's invasion of Ukraine, so it is possible that this was also a factor in their decision to terminate their deal with Spartak. However, Nike also sponsor Zenit St Petersburg and have not announced any intentions to end that agreement.
