Instead, the England Women's team are wearing jerseys with a standard Nike knit pattern. Interestingly, it only features on the front and back but not on the sleeves.
Meanwhile, the kits being available to buy feature the bespoke knit pattern.
We think that the reason why Nike produced special kits with a standard knit fabric is simple. The custom knit design likely does not offer great breathability.
Another team that have received a custom knit pattern from Nike are FC Barcelona. Their 2022-2023 Vaporknit pattern is made from a map of the city. Interestingly, Nike mirrored the design in the center, possibly for better ventilation. It remains to be seen if the Barca players will wear.
