FC Barcelona Women Sign Bimbo Sleeve Sponsorship Deal

FC Barcelona have signed a deal with Mexican food brand Bimbo, who are also the shirt sponsor of Philadelphia Union, to become the main sponsor of the women's team.

As part of the agreement, the Bimbo logo will appear on the left sleeve of the FC Barcelona Women jerseys, for the first time in the UEFA Champions League fixture against Benfica on Wednesday (9-0).

In addition to the women's team, Bimbo also secured a 'global partner' sponsorship for the whole of FC Barcelona, which includes inventory across La Masia and the training facility.

According to 2Playbook, the deal is worth €3.5 million per year. In total, the Barcelona women's team's aim is to bring in €8 million this year in order to get closer to profitability of the section.

"Together we will also work to promote an active and healthy life among our fans", explained Juli Guiu, vice president of the Barça marketing area. Alberto Levy, Bimbo's vice president of global marketing, added that this agreement, "on the one hand, is aligned with our sustainability strategy and, on the other, reinforces the continued generation of initiatives in favor of female talent."
