Paris Saint-Germain & All Other Teams Wear Horrific Sponsors in 22-23 Coupe de France
- Coupe de France Sponsors: All teams in the Coupe de France must wear streamlined sponsors, which include Betfred (away teams), Crédit Agricole (home teams), Intermarché, and Crédit Agricole on the sleeve.
- Kit Rules: The Coupe de France has unique rules requiring all teams to replace regular sponsors with tournament-specific streamlined sponsors.
- Small Team Kits: Many smaller teams in the tournament utilize Nike teamwear kits, specifically the Nike Challenge IV this season.
Like in previous years, the Coupe de France sees horrific sponsors worn by all teams.
The French Cup, also known as the Coupe de France, is France's oldest and second-most important soccer tournament (after the Ligue 1). It is organized by the French Football Federation and is open to all amateur and professional soccer teams in the country. However, the Coupe de France also has some of the strangest kit rules in the world, as explained last year.
Teams Wear Streamlined Sponsors in Coupe de France
Due to Coupe de France rules, all teams must ditch their regular sponsors for streamlined sponsors in the Coupe de France. This is a unique feature of the French Cup, as it is not common to see all teams wearing the same sponsors.
Betfred, a British bookmaker, and Crédit Agricole, a French retail bank, are the main sponsors of the tournament and are prominently displayed on the front of the shirt (Betfred for away teams, Crédit Agricole for home teams).
Many small teams wear the Nike Challenge 4 teamwear kit this year
Additionally, Crédit Agricole are also featured as sleeve sponsor, while Intermarché, a French supermarket, are featured on the shorts and the back of the shirt.
The Betfred logo actually could work pretty well with the PSG away kit. however, it is not in the middle of the white space, for whatever reason.
Small Teams Wear Teamwear Kits Provided by Nike
Another interesting aspect of the Coupe de France tournament are the kits of many small teams. Teams can decide to have their kits provided by Nike. For the 22-23 season, teams were provided with the brand-new Nike Challenge IV teamwear kit.
