Exclusive Update: EA Sports to Rename FIFA Ultimate Team to Ultimate Team FC/Football Ultimate Team?

Update: As mentioned earlier, EA Sports have also registered the names "Football Ultimate Team" and "Futbol Ultimate Team". It's possible that these names might be used for the Ultimate Team in EA Sports FC. They can be abbreviated as "FUT", like "FIFA Ultimate Team".

Since August 2022, EA Sports have registered a total of 11 new trademarks related to their football game. These trademarks are UT, FUTBOL ULTIMATE TEAM, FOOTBALL ULTIMATE TEAM, ULTIMATE TEAM FC, UTFC, FC COINS, VOLTA FOOTBALL, FC POINTS, TOTW, TOTY, and FC.

After over 20 years, EA Sports and FIFA have ended their partnership, and EA Sports has announced that their new video game will be called "EA Sports FC". Footy Headlines can now leak that other popular in-game features are also getting renamed.

Ultimate Team FC/Football Ultimate Team to Replace FIFA Ultimate Team

The most significant change is that "FIFA Ultimate Team" will now be called "Football Ultimate Team/Futbol Ultimate Team" (FUT) or "Ultimate Team FC" - UTFC, or UT for short (instead of FUT). This change reflects EA Sports' desire to shift the focus of the game from FIFA to Ultimate Team.

In addition to the name change, FUT Points will now be called FC Points, and FUT Coins will now be known as FC Coins.

EA Sports have yet only revealed the new visual identity of EA Sports FC but no in-game features. The game's next installment is reportedly to launch on 30 September 2023. EA Sports will reveal more information in July 2023.

Regarding its features, EA Sports FC is expected to be quite similar to EA Sports FIFA. As per reports, Ultimate Team FC will allow players to have a combination of male and female players.
