Manchester City to Have No/New Sleeve Sponsor From 2023-24 Season
Premier League giants Manchester City this week announced a renewal of their partnership with Korean tire manufacturer Nexen Tire. In the announcement, it was subtly revealed that the deal had been "downgraded".
Manchester City & Nexen Downgrade Original Sleeve Sponsor Deal
After six years, Nexen Tire will no longer feature on the sleeve of the Manchester City kit. Instead, the new deal "will focus on their brand identity, with digital activations, creative content and increased localization for priority markets". The renewal agreement will also see Nexen continue to activate on pre-season tours, in addition to branding remaining on the team bus and across the bridge between the Etihad Stadium and City Football Academy.
The latest Manchester City Nexen sleeve sponsor deal was worth around 12-15 million GBP per season. It remains to be seen if Manchester City manage to find a new sleeve sponsor in time for the new season. Indeed, it seems probable that the very soon-to-be-released Manchester City 2023-2024 home kit will be available without a sleeve sponsor for the time being.
