Newcastle's New Shirt Sponsor Is NOT a Saudi Company

According to the Times, Newcastle have agreed in principle a £25 million a season shirt sponsorship deal for next season, but not with a Saudi company as had been expected.

Newcastle's Next Sponsor Won't be Saudi

Newcastle's search for a new shirt sponsor is nearing an end, according to the Times. Fun88 have been on their kits since 2017 and have been paying about £8 million a season for the privilege, but the two parties agreed to terminate the contract two years early, allowing the club to find a new partner willing to pay a fee more in line with their new financial standing and sporting expectations.

The airline Saudia had been speculated as Newcastle's new sponsor.

The new sponsor is Middle Eastern, but not Saudi.

The Times report that Newcastle have agreed a £25 million a year deal with a Middle Eastern company, not mentioning them by name but stating that they are not based in Saudi Arabia. Since the takeover of the club by a Saudi consortium, the expectation had been that the owners would seek a new sponsor in their homeland, but it turns out that will not be the case. That rules out the possibility of airline Saudia having their logo on the toon's kit next season.
