The Adidas x Newcastle United kit deal marks a reunion for the two brands after more than ten years since they last collaborated. Adidas previously supplied the Magpies' official kits and training wear between 1995 and 2010.
During Newcastle United's famous Entertainers era, the club and Adidas enjoyed a close relationship, with Kevin Keegan's title-challenging side wearing some of the most popular kits of the era. The brand's three stripes were also worn by the Magpies during several iconic UEFA Champions League matches, including a famous 3-2 victory over FC Barcelona featuring a Faustino Asprilla hat-trick in 1997, and in each season under the stewardship of the late Sir Bobby Robson.
This collaboration brings together two iconic names known for their history
Nick Craggs, Global Football General Manager at Adidas, said, "This collaboration brings together two iconic names known for their history, innovation, and commitment to excellence within football. We are excited to provide them with cutting-edge sportswear technology and look forward to creating many more unforgettable moments, inspiring fans and players alike."

The deal was completed at Adidas' global headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany, and was part of a club delegation visit, as captured on Amazon Prime. A vital element of this new agreement will see Newcastle United rebuilding its own retail operations both in-store and online, locally and globally.
Adidas have a great standing with club supporters and is generally more fitting for the new ambition of Newcastle, which cannot be said for Castore.
