Barcelona Want to Regoniate and Improve Nike Deal

Although Barcelona and Nike have a contract that runs until 2028, Barcelona are proposing to negotiate an extension and improve the terms in favor of Barça, according to @JijantesFC

Barcelona x Nike contract

Nike agreed on a deal with Barcelona last in 2018, which sees Barcelona receive around €100m per season, depending on variables, with other parts of merchandising beyond the shirt also included.

Barcelona want to renegotiate their contract with Nike to find new sources of income to create a better financial solution for the team. Specifically, Barcelona proposed that Nike have the right to name the Olimpic Lluis Companys stadium while Barcelona play there.

The Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys is Barcelona's home stadium while Spotify Camp Nou is being renovated.

Nike are reportedly open to the idea proposed by Barcelona. However, there is an obstacle: the right to name the stadium is not decided by Barcelona alone, as it is only the stadium they rent to play. The Montjuic stadium is owned by the city council of Barcelona, and the Blaugrana will have to ask their permission to sell the naming rights.

If approved by the Barcelona city council, the Blaugrana will also have to share some of the profits from the sale of the naming rights with the city council.
