Update: The Fédération Française de Football (FFF) officially launched the tender to select the official equipment supplier for the 2026-2027 to 2033-2034 period (to start after the 2026 World Cup and also include the 2034 World Cup). Interested candidates must submit their bids to the FFF by April 29, 2024.
The existing agreement with Nike has a financial value of €50.5 million annually. According to the former president of the French Football Federation, Noël Le Graët, this includes a minimum rights fee of €38 million per year, as well as €7.5 million worth of equipment for the French teams and the Coupe de France. Additionally, Nike has pledged €5 million to support amateur football in France.
It will be very interesting to see if Adidas goes all-in on the France kit deal. Adidas lost Germany to Nike, which will become DFB's supplier in 2027, six months after the 2026 World Cup. Nike pays Germany around 100 million Euro annually, which is double what the FFF gets.
February 2024: Adidas and Puma to Rival Nike for France Kit Deal
The FFF (French Football Federation) is expected to launch a tender in April 2024 to find a new supplier for the national team's kit from 2026, according to L’Équipe.
France x Nike Kit Deal
France's current contract with Nike is worth €50.5 million a year and runs until the end of 2026. The FFF is looking for a new kit supplier in the hope of securing an 8-year deal.
The FFF is optimistic of securing a new, more lucrative deal following France's strong performances in recent major tournaments, particularly with star player Kylian Mbappé.
Nike has been supplying France with kits since 2011.
Adidas and Puma to Rival Nike
Competition between sports brands is becoming increasingly fierce, which means that the FFF's contract with Nike is uncertain. The FFF wants to take advantage of this competition to consider bids from Adidas and Puma to ensure it has the best kit supplier for France from 2026.
