Gladbach Announces New Main Shirt Sponsor Deal

Gladbach, the traditional German football club, has announced that online bathroom products store Reuter will be its new main sponsor, replacing online broker Flatex whose contract expires in the summer.

The Reuter logo will be visible on the players' shirts for two years with an option for a further year.

For Gladbach's kit, Reuter is favorable compared to Flatex. The Reuter logo will certainly be in the same colors as the kit - no more unfitting orange on Gladbach's kits.

Reuter, a company with a turnover of over 350 million euros, will pay approximately 11 million euros a year depending on success. This is more than 3% of the company's turnover - we do not think that the contract will run any longer than the fixed two or three years (for example, Spotify pays Barcelona 70 million Euro, which is 0.6% of Spotify's turnover).

VfL head of marketing, Guido Uhle, expressed the club's desire for long-term partnerships. The 11 million euro annual fee places Gladbach above average among Bundesliga clubs, though still lower than clubs such as Wolfsburg (exaggerated 70 million Euro deal with Volkswagen), Bayern Munich (50 million Euro), Borussia Dortmund (40 million Euro - Evonik plus 1&1), and RB Leipzig (exaggerated? 35 million from Red bull).

Reuter is now the 12th shirt sponsor in VfL's history, following brands like Natural Gas, Datsun, Jever, and Flatex.
